What Marks You? (Galatians 6:11-18)
Tim Cedarland, Thrive's regional director, opens up the last section of Galatians—a brief intermission from Thrive's series on Romans. In Galatians 6:11-18 Paul explains what marks the Judaizers (6:12-13), what marks true believers (6:14-16), and what marked him (6:17). Believers, as opposed to mere legalists, are known not only for their love for people but also for their boasting in Christ rather than externals. The Judaizers, on the other hand, looked to empty rituals for their righteousness and as a result were callous toward people and coveted glory for themselves. Passages cited (or alluded to) in this message include Galatians 6:11-18; 1 Samuel 2:19; 1 Corinthians 15:58; John 7:38; and Galatians 2:20.
